What Is Acura Maintenance Minder™?

This advanced computer system is designed to make your driving experience better by giving more accurate service recommendations. The Acura Maintenance Minder™ will measure your driving style, the road conditions, and more. When the wrench symbol pops up on your Acura, this means that it's time for maintenance.

Acura Maintenance Minder™ Codes

In addition to the wrench symbol, your Acura Maintenance Minder™ will display a code that lets you know what service is needed and how to address the issue. There are three main components to this code.

First is the oil life monitor. When your oil life reaches 15%, the message "SERVICE DUE SOON" will display, so you should plan to bring your vehicle to McGrath Acura of Morton Grove before too long. At 5% oil life, the message "SERVICE DUE NOW" will show up. When oil life reaches 0%, the Acura Maintenance Minder™ will display the message "SERVICE PAST DUE."

The Acura Maintenance Minder™ Code will Show a Letter

Next up, the Acura Maintenance Minder™ code will show a letter. If it displays an A, that means that you will need to have the oil and oil filter changed. If the code is a B, that means that you will need to have not just an oil and filter change but also a front and rear brake inspection, parking brake adjustment, or an inspection of other vehicle systems.

Finally, the Acura Maintenance Minder™ may display one or more numbers from 1 through 6. Each number has a specific meaning:

1 - Tire rotation service is needed.
2 - The air cleaner element, drive belt, and dust and pollen filter need to be checked and potentially replaced.
3 - The transmission fluid and transfer fluid need to be replaced.
4 - Check the spark plugs, timing belt, water pump, and valves.
5 - Low engine coolant.
6 - Rear differential fluid needs to be replaced.
